SipBuild UK  has been invited to share its expertise with construction professionals at a training event hosted by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT).

Managing director Chris Duckworth will address technical and design aspects of structural insulated panels (SIPS) at the continuing professional development (CPD) event in Wakefield on November 12.

A minimum of 35 hours CPD is required for CIAT and other construction professionals every year.

Yorkshire Region CPD officer Mark Kennett said: “SIPS is a more and more relevant part of construction because of the increase in new values and emphasis on the carbon use of buildings.

“One aspect is sealing buildings, and SIPS offer a clear advantage in achieving better air tight seals. As regulations are becoming harder to achieve there is pressure to look for alternative methods.”

The event will take place from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at Holiday Inn Wakefield, Queen’s Drive, Ossett, WF5 9BE.

About 30 architectural technologists, architects, contractors and other professionals are expected to attend. Tea, coffee and muffins will be provided at 6.30pm.
